This is Storm from Marvel's X-Men.

The suit isn't based on any actual suit Storm's ever worn.  I actually got the idea from Becka Monroe's suit, her daughter in an alternative storyline, so I kind of created my own version of Storm.

The suit is made of black metallic spandex and gold 2-way stretch vinyl. I originally tried to sew in the gold vinyl and it failed.  I did some research via pinterest and discovered satin stitching and tried that and it worked pretty well.  It did seem to limit the stretch of the suit a bit and that caused some problems with the zipper since I designed it to be a very fitted suit and I thought I'd have more stretch, but it ended up fitting fine.  I used Kwik Sew 3052 as a base pattern and altered it a bit by adding a side seam, shortened the length and changed the shape a little.  Next time I'll adjust the shape to my body shape a bit more.

The cape is made with some kind of satin with a gold vinyl trim.  The little red gem is cast from epoxy resin and the gold is spray painted paperclay.  It actually belongs to my Raven costume.

The boots are the same materials as the suit.
